Stan Spohr Treasurer

I was born, raised and married in Portland, Oregon. Graduated from the University of Oregon with a degree in Business Administration/Accounting. Immediately came to Hanford after spending two weeks at the Yakima Firing Range as part of the Oregon National Guard. Promised my wife we would spend only two years at Hanford, but like so many others, the area grew on us and we remained in Richland. Raised three children who have given us 9 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

My career at Hanford has been mostly in Finance and Contract Administration , including Manager, Accounting; Manager Finance; Manager, Contract Administration- managing the prime contract with the DOE.

It seems like I have always been involved in civic and professional activities, including serving as Treasurer/President . Organizations include Richland Jaycees, Richland Accounting Assoc, National Accounting Assoc, Hanford Management Assoc, and for those who remember, Atomic Frontier Days.

Since my retirement in 1989, I have been mostly involved in Senior activities and Accountant/Treasurer at The Neurological Center. Also, activities include helping others during tax season as coordinator at the Richland Community Center Tax Aide site and as a tax instructor. I am most proud of my contribution on getting the new Richland Community Center, including work on the Bond Drive and on the Project Development Team. I have been Treasurer of the Richland Seniors Association since it formation in 1995.
